I think everyone will be happy to know that we are feverishly working on our next Expose. (Hint: Having 8 lays over the course of over 2 years means you are NOT skilled enough to be an instructor.)

This post is both a preface to our next subject, as well as something that applies to all of our past posts as well.

At any point in time, we are constantly in the process of investigating multiple companies/individuals for future topics. As part of this research, we contacted the owner of one of the larger companies in this industry. This company is legitimate and has a very good reputation. The problem and reason we contacted them was their affiliate relationship with a very questionable instructor.

That conversation turned into somewhat of a discussion about the validity and usefulness of Bootcamp Reviews by the students.

There is an unbelievable amount of instructors out there who when challenged about their skill level and competency at instructing, point to their reviews and success and decry “My reviews/lack of refunds/success speak for themselves.”

Well, here is the problem. Nearly all of the students who participate in bootcamps are completely unknowledgeable about the topic of seduction. They aren’t skilled at it, they aren’t successful with women, and they don’t know what it takes to be good. This is the reason why they are paying someone to teach them in the first place.

The issue arises when those people start writing testimonials for the companies they took the bootcamp from. What most guys who teach this skillset won’t tell you is that getting positive bootcamp reviews doesn’t take a high level of understanding, skill, or competency. You are teaching someone who doesn’t have a clue what they are doing, so any instructor with more knowledge than a student can appear to be a “Guru.” As you may or may not know, most of the guys on the PUA Watchdog panel have taught bootcamps for a variety of the companies in the community, and they will certainly tell you that almost every company has instructors that shouldn’t be teaching others. They will also tell you that these instructors - which rarely actually have success with women themselves - are able to get glowing reviews from students.

That is the summary. Here are a couple portions from the email - some parts were added for clarity - that describe this in detail:

“The glaring problem with the community, and why illegitimate pickup
companies can be successful, is because inexperienced guys simply cannot
tell the difference between good information and bad information.

I’ve taught bootcamps in the past, and I know as well as anybody who
teaches them that in most cases it takes an extremely poor performance to
get a refund request.

Example:

When I and most of the other good PUA’s I know first got into the community a few years ago, I (we) couldn’t do cold approach. To me, watching a guy walk up to a random group of girls and talk for 15 minutes and have them laughing, getting numbers, makeouts, etc… at the time,
that would have seemed amazing. I would have relished the chance to learn
from someone who could do that.

However, that’s meaningless. I think you understand what I mean, but I’ll
provide the below paragraph anyways.

I started to see how misleading that can be when I got to the point where
I could talk to girls and get numbers, but I wasn’t actually converting
those to lays. However, guys from the local lair (NYC) would watch me and would
see me talking and getting numbers and makeouts and think I was getting
laid. That did not feel right. I wasn’t. But even at that skill level, I
could have easily sold training (I had people ask for training constantly), taught a bootcamp, and not gotten any refund requests… and good testimonials to boot, simply because what I
was doing appeared to be getting results. (which it was to a certain
degree, but there is a very big difference between what you see at a club, and
what, if anything, happens in the bedroom.)

Simply, someone’s reviews/testimonials/success at selling and teaching
bootcamps can be completely independent of their actual skill.
Furthermore, it’s in the contract that every attendee signs that a refund
request must be made at the bootcamp, and most students write testimonials
before they’ve actually used the training long enough to know if it
actually works. It’s unlikely they’ll revisit or retract the testimonial
once they’ve figured that out (if they ever do).”

So if infield perfomance and student testimonials aren’t accurate in their portrayal of an instructor’s skill level, success, or competency… how do you judge them accurately.

Well, the answer is quite simple. An instructor’s skill level can really only be judged by somebody who already has a high skill level and experience. Someone who has already gone through the journey, and who is getting the results, can easily tell the difference between a legitimate instructor, and a phony.

It was this experience and ability which allowed us to look past the 5 Star Youtube Rating and endless sea of positive comments of the SeduceInSeconds video which we exposed - and see it for what it really was, a fake. In fact, that in itself proves the point that new guys are simply not in a position to judge the skill and competency of an instructor (There were literally hundreds going gaga over that video, unable to see what is blatantly obvious to an experienced and skillful instructor).

Bringing this back around - This post has 2 purposes.

The first is to remind everyone that positive reviews from inexperienced guys aren’t worth the paper their written on. It takes experience, knowledge, and skill to make an accurate review or critique, none of which most testimonial writer’s posses.

We realized this, which is why we’ve hand picked a panel of respected, and most importantly successful PUA’s to have roundtable discussions on the topics we research. We make sure that those we discredit here are absolutely deserving of it. We make sure that those we discredit are frauds or liars. If it’s questionable, we simply rate it as suspicious. As this post explains, this is the only accurate method and viable method to judge an instructor’s skill and competency.

The second is to nip the “Look at our reviews,” defense in the bud. It’s meaningless and says nothing about the actual skill level of the instructor.

Until next time!

-Blaze

P.S. Watch for out next Expose… It will be up in the next couple days!

If it’s not one thing it’s another.

Though Venusian Arts recently settled their lawsuit with The Mystery Method, it seems they’ve got another one on their plate.

Roy Gordon, perhaps better known as “Ray Gordon”, has filed a complaint naming Viacom, Venusian Arts, and Erik VonMarkovik (Mystery) as defendants. (Note: Roy Gordon is known for filing spurious lawsuits. Most notably suing Google for $13 BILLION with a B for copyright infringement. He lost that suit and now owes google roughly $11,000 in legal fees)

The Charges?

False and Misleading Advertising Under The Lanham Act

False Designation of Origin Under The Lanham Act

Antitrust Violations

Lanham Act Disparagement

Fair Housing Act Violation

Tortious Interference

Roy Gordon is seeking $31 MILLION in compensation.

Now, for those who aren’t legal gurus, Viacom and VA are accused of faking the reality show “The Pickup Artist”, and gaining a monopoly on the seduction industry because of the show’s influence… leaning heavily towards The Mystery Method as well as Venusian Arts. As you go down the list, the claims become increasingly spurious.

Mystery and VA are also accused of hiring models in order to make bootcamps more successful, threatening Roy Gordon’s mother, trying to warn the public of Roy’s supposed mental illness (which is where the Fair Housing Act claim stems from), among other things.

What does PUA Watchdog think?

There is only one claim which we could see as at least plausible - The faking of “The Pickup Artist”.

The question about whether The Pickup Artist used staged infield footage is incidentally the subject of our next Full post. We did extensive research, watched all of the footage, talked to the vast majority of people involved in the making of show and who were present at the filming (including some of the contestants themselves), and we’ve found that (save for the scene inside the limo at the strip club), although the clips were edited in a fashion that changed the chronology of some of the events, the raw infield footage was not staged and did not use actors. We of course will have more information in the full post.

As for the other claims made in this suit, the vast majority of them are clearly and obviously unfounded (i.e. Hiring models for bootcamps - which even disgruntled former employees/instructors of any of the companies named will point out is a complete falsity).

There are also a myriad of factual errors in the complaint itself (which was written by the plaintiff and not an attorney), and in many portions of the complaint, Roy Gordon seems to go off into a ramble about things that have no relevancy, which is going to make it difficult to have anyone take the complaint seriously.

We don’t think this will develop into anything serious. This case will be dismissed as soon as it gets into a judge’s hands. It is certainly an interesting read though.

Read the entire complaint here.

Read the Filing Information here.

Rating: FRAUDULENT (Highly Suspicious)

We are posting this as a consumer warning about the guys over at MyPUAJourney.com. This is not a full expose, and thus won’t have an accompanying video, nor will it be as detailed or thorough as our previous entries. This is simply a warning to consumers.

The men on our panel have each been in the pickup community for 3 years or more… and for those of us that teach pickup, the transition from “AFC” to “PUA” took AT LEAST a year.

How does this tie in with Jack Coxwell from MyPUAJourney.com?

Well, he has apparently made the transition from complete AFC to Master Pickup Artist - Charging for bootcamps the same price that any of the big companies do - in just a few short months.

The other curious thing about Jack Coxwell and MyPUAJourney is their connection to our first Expose. MyPUAJourney.com has teamed up with T (Of Fraudulent SeduceInSeconds.com Fame). He makes the spurious claim that T is “The highest authority when it comes to this art.” (Editor Note: Perhaps the highest authority on creating a company based on lying and deception to your customers. )

Let’s start here.

http://www.mypuajourney.com/?p=6

This is their very first entry on their blog. It states they had just read the Mystery Method book and went out for the first time. He even goes so far as to say “Now don’t get me wrong, I’m NO WHERE NEAR being a Master Pickup Artist. Or even a PUA for that matter!”

Now, 6 months later… MyPUAJourney.com is selling bootcamps for $2500… Just slightly under the price for well established pickup bootcamps from companies and instructors that have been masters of this stuff for years and years.

While the Infield Video on their site appears to be genuine (though, none of it impressive), the conduct of Jack Coxwell and MyPUAJourney is highly suspicious due to the nature of his self-admitted inexperience.

Unfortunately, it’s another case of an unqualified and unskilled person attempting to take advantage of consumers that simply do not know any better. It appears that the site was created with the sole intention of making money (Also evidenced by the ad placement and affiliate links that have been up since the site’s inception).

One more interesting note. Jack Coxwell actively worked with T from SeduceInSeconds.com in order to try to expose the identities of the PUA’s on the PUA Watchdog Panel. (We don’t aggressively hide our identity, you can certainly find out exactly who we are if you know where to look.)

Is someone with a relationship this close to a KNOWN fraud and actively promoting a KNOWN fraud’s products and teachings… is that person/company trustworthy?

Well, one could argue that perhaps the owners of MyPUAJourney.com are naive in their inexperience, but unfortunately that can’t be said of guys who admit they suck at pickup and then start teaching bootcamps and accepting money.

PUA Watchdog Recommends:

Go with an established company with instructors that actually know what they are doing. You can’t become an instructor level mPUA in just a few months. That hasn’t stopped Jack Coxwell and MyPUAJourney from trying, but BUYER BEWARE!

Don’t take it from us though:

“Neither of us are Pickup Artists yet.” -Jack Coxwell from MyPUAJourney.com

UPDATE:

In an apparent bid to try to control the loss of credibility (which he most certainly deserves), Jack Coxwell has put his own spin on the story saying we took those quotes out of context. Not only did we not take them out of context, but it doesn’t even matter since the quotes were simply used to show that just a few months ago he considered himself to be a complete AFC.

Also, Jack Coxwell is trying to convince people that a member on our panel works for Venusian Arts. This is absolutely and completely 100% FALSE. Although one of our panel members was at one point an administrator on the VA Forum, that relationship ended completely long before PUA Watchdog was even an idea. (Beyond that, even though that relationship is severed, that panel member is no longer eligible to vote on posts regarding that company.)

Also, Jack Coxwell is now openly admitting that he is good friends with T from SeduceInSeconds.com. He even goes further by suggesting that this post stems from that (which is also untrue… anyone notice a pattern?). Perhaps they should consider selling a program on “How To Start A Pickup Company When You Don’t Have Any Actual Skill At Picking Up.”

Nice try, Jack! We’ll leave it to the consumers out there to decide if they want to spend money on someone who associates with known frauds, lies to try to gain credibility, and has an amazing 6 months experience learning pickup. Though, we’ll be happy to upgrade your rating now that you are spreading lies.

The video is located at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odGKz5Bc1Xc

Our team saw this video and immediately grew suspicious of the interaction taking place. If people are curious, we may post a full walkthrough of what lead us to being completely sure the video was fake even before we investigated.

Using publicly available information and a bit of social engineering, we were able to confirm that the “target” in this video was in fact friends with the “PUA” beforehand, and that the video was completely fake.

We started with by searching the Whois.net database to see who the website was registered under. The name we found was “Jonathan Sankey.” This name was also referenced on one of the sales pages for his product at www.seduceinseconds.com

We then used Facebook to search his email and find his profile, and even though we couldn’t view it, we could search his friends.

Jonathan Sankey’s Profile Screenshot

We found the “Target’s” profile, and confirmed that it was her.

Link: Target’s Profile Screenshot

Then we created a fake profile in order to talk to her under the pretense that we randomly messaged her, and asked her how she knew Jonathan Sankey, and that our fake user had gone to school with him. As expected, she answered with “I went to reddam with sankey!!! And he lives around the corner from me.”

Link: Conversation Screenshot

After searching for “reddam” Australia (The country where both the pua and target live), the first result is a school that teaches all grades up through 12th.

This completely confirmed that the video was a fake and the interaction portrayed was in fact staged.
